I wanted to post something about World AIDS Day, but I really couldn’t find anything that wasn’t already on lots of blogs.  Instead, I’m going to post a Pat Robinson TV clip from his 700 Club show.  If you look at the fine print at the end, you’ll see that it was put on YouTube by People for the American Way.  When I told Beth about this, she asked if People For added commentary or if they let it speak for itself.  They just let it speak for itself.  We became members of People for the American Way around 1984, and I don’t know if we’re still members or not.  We probably are, but, if we aren’t, we still believe in their mission.  Here’s the video.  Please watch the whole thing because it gets crazier the longer it runs.

The Jewish/Christian Scriptures speak relentlessly about loving and helping the poor, the widows, the orphans.  On this World AIDS Day, where are the poor, the widows, and the orphans in all of this bullshit about Interstate Highway 35?  Millions of people around the world, and in the United States, are poor, widowed, and orphaned because of AIDS.  How can anybody who is even marginally Christian take the message of this video even remotely seriously?

  • oh pat………..he’s at it again. i found it funny that when they were talking about the gay guy that was saved, they used terms like “filled with the holy ghost” and “plugged by our church.” i dunno………….sounds kinda gay to me.
